Austrian Communications Authority ("KommAustria")
The Austrian Communications Authority ("KommAustria") was set up on 1 April 2001 to regulate the broadcasting sector as a subordinate department to the Federal Chancellery. It is an independent authority in the conduct of its business.
Coinciding with the set-up of KommAustria, the Federal Communication Senate, the Broadcasting Advisory Board, Rundfunk und Telekom Regulierungs-GmbH (RTR-GmbH, previously Telekom-Control GmbH) were installed as additional bodies, and Telekom-Control-Kommission was reconfirmed.
