Division IV: Coordination
Division IV is responsible for:
- Preparing general government policy and ensuring consistency in the cooperation of the Federal ministries in all policy matters
- Administering the business of the Council of Ministers
- Coordinating replies to parliamentary queries
- Economic coordination within the framework of general government policy
- General issues of economic development, macro-economy, economic research and the OECD
- General matters in the context of Austria’s membership in the European Union, matters concerning the European Council
- Coordination in area planning and regional policy at the Federal and land level, structural policy
- Audit of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
- Coordination in regard of a comprehensive security policy and comprehensive national defence
- Secretariat of the National Security Council
- Conducting the business of the Bioethics Commission at the Federal Chancellery
